The course aims to educate and train students in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on the technical requirements of industry in Ireland. The course is a preparation for direct employment in an engineering industry and It will also provide students with a solid foundation to study an engineering course at third level. Students studying Engineering have access to technical workshops, fitted with a variety of specialist equipment . Students will gain practical skills to pursue a career in the Engineering industry.

he aim of this programme is to provide a pathway for people who want to start on a career in an engineering field. It takes place with the employer and in the college which provides the learner with training and practical experience in the working environment. In addition to further developing the skills and knowledge gained during the off -the -job training elements, the learner will develop the competence and self-confidence to consistently perform to industrial standards. In addition, the mathematical and soft skills learned through the Safety and Health at Work, communications and work experience modules will ensure that the learner progressing to an apprenticeship have the desired quality, suitability and competency for the courses.

NZEB Retrofit Thermal Insulation Installation, Raheen College of Further Education

The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) requires all new buildings from 2021 to be nearly zero-energy buildings (NZEB). This directive requires all construction professionals to adhere to the NZEB standard and to undergo upskilling to meet the requirements of the sustainable building agenda. Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board is offering a number of training programmes designed to empower you with knowledge of the principles and practices required to meet the NZEB standard.

On this 2-week programme, delivered at our Green Innovation Campus, Roxboro, Limerick, you will learn how to insulate a building using best practices. This includes internal, external, floor and roof insulation. You will also learn how to make a building airtight to minimise unwanted energy losses.
